Dear friends of St. Rafael,
The Collected Works are finally here! The book was published by Cistercian Publications/Liturgical Press on April 27, 2022—yes, that’s his feast day, and no, we did not know that was going to happen. The Holy Spirit is just that good. My copy arrived today, and I’m pretty thrilled:
(I guess this also marks the newsletter debut of my postulant uniform!)
If you haven’t already, you can get your copy of the Collected Works here. (You can also support independent bookstores by buying through Bookshop!) Review copies and exam copies are also available. And there’s always your local library’s purchase request form. :)
I know it’s a long read, but when you’re ready, I’d love it if you could review the book on Amazon, Goodreads, and Storygraph. Livetweeting your reading experience is highly encouraged. I’ve had this all to myself for years and I am so stoked to hear others’ thoughts and reactions!!
In other St. Rafael-related news, there are two new illustrations of the turnips story in the world! My friend Ilani made this adorable “Peel Turnips for Jesus” animation (search @theartistilani on giphy and twitter gifs for her stuff):
And I came across this great comic:
But my favorite new bit of Rafael art has to be my co-postulant Kayla’s meme:
I am blessed to have the friendship and support of such creative (and hilarious) people. Thank you all.
Now go read, pray, and tell me everything!!!
With gratitude,
Catherine
YESSS congratulations queen!!!!!!
